SOCIAL NETWORKING ADDICTION

Social Networking addiction
With the rise in technology and social Networking there is an issue comes up i.e. Social Networking Addiction. For Business professionals it becomes a way to market their products and services and on the other way it becomes a way to be connect with their friends and mates.

Life Style with Social Networking
While the incidence of social network addictions in other parts of the world may not be as dramatic as Internet gaming addictions, for example, seem to be in some Asian countries, the rapid growth of social networks both in reach and in the number of interaction possibilities, poses new problems everyday for the elaboration of solid diagnostic criteria. From academic procrastination to social impairment as far as real physical interactions are concerned, diminished productivity at work and physical problems associated with a sedentary lifestyle; there seem to be enough problems related to Internet and social network addictions to give researchers enough to work on for many years to come.

What’s the problem?
I think the problem comes when people get too involved. Recently I’ve noticed more and more people giving up real world interactions for online ones. Why call someone when you can send them a message on Facebook? Why visit someone when you can have a chat session with them?
Using social networking sites as a jump off point for real world interaction is great. Sites like Facebook can be wonderful for finding out about events and social activities. I think it’s just a matter of disconnecting from the machine and getting out to those events.

Future of Social networking
The Future seems great impact on kids and teens as it becomes very common to join social networking sites. Kids are so addicted to facebook and twiiter that they even forget their real life and career. After seen this now you can think what it brings in future.

  4. Exactly! Social networking these days is replacing 'playing outside' for teens. Back in the day everyone hung out to socialise, now people use facebook/twitter/myspace etc to socialise. People just need to switch it off. A walk in the park isn't illegal you know..?!

  6. While such networks have made people, communities and groups with shared interests stay more “connected,” Internet addiction and social networking is really creating harm for kids specially who are teens around 12- 14 years of age.
